When you hear the story of trickle-down economics, it will almost start with Ronald Reagan. He did impose it during his administration, but while his folksy, wild-west anti-government spiel sold it, he did not develop the economic plans they implemented. They were developed by an ultra-right-wing “think-tank” named the Heritage Foundation, a driving force in the efforts to turn the US into a Christian theocracy. Their version of economics is deeply rooted in a reaction to integration and a libertarian/Calvinist view of “free will” and merit. The Heritage Foundation is still active and is continuing to influence policy.
